Mannheim (dpa / lsw) - The Adler Mannheim have to plan for the start of the season in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) without Thomas Larkin. The defender is out after a hand operation, as the Mannheim team announced on Thursday. According to the eagles, when exactly Larkin can start playing again depends on the healing process.
"The fact that we have to do without him for the time being is of course extremely bitter for us," said sports manager Jan-Axel Alavaara. But he is optimistic that Larkin will be available for the Eagles again in October. The 31-year-old Italian international switched to Mannheim in 2017. In 249 DEL games so far, he has scored 26 goals and prepared 63 goals.
