Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Full-back Borna Sosa returned to training for Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart on Tuesday. The Croatian national player worked individually with athletic trainer Martin Franz, completed running and passing exercises. It is not yet clear when the 24-year-old will be able to train with the team again.
Up until now, Sosa had missed the Swabians' complete preparations, including their week-long training camp in Weiler-Simmerberg in the Allgäu. Most recently, the defender, who had been struggling with adductor problems since the final spurt of last season and sometimes played in pain, completed an individual development program with an external specialist.
Next Saturday (3.30 p.m.) VfB will play their last friendly of this summer break against Spanish first division side FC Valencia. The first competitive game is on July 29 (6 p.m.) in the first round of the DFB Cup at third division Dynamo Dresden.
