Baden-Württemberg: EnBW significantly increases prices for heat generation

Karlsruhe (dpa/lsw) - After the gas prices, EnBW is also significantly increasing the prices for heat flow. According to information from the energy supplier on Wednesday, the tariffs for electric storage heaters or heat pumps will rise by an average of 63.4 percent as of January 1st. Heat electricity tariffs outside of the basic supply therefore change at a similar rate. EnBW justified the increase with significantly increased procurement costs.

For electric storage heaters without separate measurement with a typical consumption of 6300 kilowatt hours per year, customers must expect additional costs of around 66 euros per month according to EnBW. For a household with a heat pump and an annual consumption of 6500 kilowatt hours, the monthly costs also increase by around 66 euros.

As EnBW recently announced, gas prices for basic supply will also rise as of December 1 - by an average of 38 percent.
