Baden-Württemberg: Experts: Unemployment in February is likely to have fallen

Slight recovery on the job market in Baden-Württemberg in sight: After an increase in January, experts expect unemployment to fall in February.

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - According to estimates by labor market experts, the number of unemployed in the southwest should have fallen in February. In the previous month, the unemployment rate had risen to 3.9 percent, as announced by the regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency. In January, 243,217 people were registered as unemployed nationwide. However, unemployment is likely to be higher than the previous year's figure of 3.5 percent in February.

The head of the regional agency, Christian Rauch, said in December that he was expecting an annual average unemployment rate of 3.7 percent. According to Rauch, that would be 0.1 percentage points more than the annual average for 2022.

The regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency will publish its labor market report for this February on Wednesday (9.55 a.m.). The reference date for the current figures was February 13.
