Baden-Württemberg: glider lands on a forest path

Sinzheim (dpa/lsw) - A two-seater glider landed on a forest path in Sinzheim (Rastatt district) on Saturday due to bad weather. According to the police on Monday, no one was injured. There was damage of 70,000 euros. The 29-year-old pilot was traveling with a passenger, because of an approaching rain front he wanted to return to the airfield. Because of the rain and downdrafts, the pilot decided to make an outlanding in a corn field. However, since this was not large enough, the aircraft went over it and finally came to a standstill on a forest path. Both wings and the fuselage of the aircraft were severely damaged.
