Baden-Württemberg: Labor court negotiates lawsuit for post at OB Palmer

An employee of the city of Tübingen is suing her employer before the labor court for the second time. This time it's about a post in Mayor Palmer's antechamber.

Reutlingen (dpa / lsw) - The Reutlingen Labor Court is today dealing with a lawsuit filed by an employee of the city of Tübingen who tried in vain to get a post in Mayor Boris Palmer's antechamber. According to a court spokeswoman, the conciliation hearing is about compensation for pain and suffering. She didn't name the height. According to the court spokeswoman, the parties have the opportunity to exchange their positions at the meeting. It is possible that the question of a possible comparison will also be addressed. If both parties reject this, however, a chamber date will be determined.

The plaintiff, currently on maternity leave, claims she was not considered for the post because she disclosed a past love affair with Palmer during the interview. The city administration of Tübingen contradicts this representation. Palmer himself was not involved in the application process.

According to the city administration, the employee failed the interview because she did not want to take up the full-time position in the advertised position. In addition, the applicant stated in the procedure that she was concerned with a higher classification. But there was no basis for that. The application process went smoothly.

The plaintiff had already sued for a higher classification in an earlier procedure before the labor court and had failed. At the time, she was a staff member. Since the applicant no longer held this position at the time of applying for the office post, there was no basis for a higher classification, the city argued and announced that it would apply to the Reutlingen Labor Court for a dismissal of all points.
