Baden-Württemberg: Test center operators suspected of fraud

Tübingen (dpa/lsw) - The public prosecutor's office and the criminal police have started investigations into an operator of corona test centers in the Tübingen district on suspicion of fraud. The 34-year-old is said to have filled out numerous test certificates and submitted them for settlement without actually having tested people beforehand, it said in a statement on Tuesday. According to the public prosecutor and the police, detectives found evidence such as electronic data during a search of the apartment on Monday. The extent of the damage is not yet known. The suspect operated two test centers in the Tübingen district until mid-May. He now faces a prison sentence of up to five years or a fine.
