Hohberg (dpa / lsw) - The driver of a semitrailer caused a rear-end collision on Autobahn 5 in the Ortenau district and then fled. Traffic was backed up for up to 10 kilometers. Despite the ban on overtaking on the Autobahn near Hohberg, the driver suddenly switched from the right to the left lane on Friday, the police said on Saturday. A driver slammed on the brakes to avoid a collision. A driver of a small van following behind him recognized this too late and drove up. A female and a male passenger sustained minor injuries in the collision. There was damage of around 70,000 euros.
