Marktoberdorf (dpa / lby) - A 70-year-old man died in an accident with a burning quad in Allgäu. The driver left the road in a curve near Marktoberdorf (Ostallgäu district), the police said. The reason for this is not yet known - external influence is currently excluded.
The 70-year-old fell into a rain overflow basin on Sunday and, according to police, was trapped under the vehicle in the water. The quad caught fire shortly thereafter. After the fire brigade extinguished the fire, the man was already dead. The cause of death has yet to be clarified. The rescue of the driver took a total of more than two hours. The vehicle is a total loss of 7,000 euros.
