Brussels/Munich (dpa/lby) - The majority of Bavarian MEPs voted against a ban on new petrol and diesel cars from 2035. As the voting protocol from Wednesday evening shows, the CSU MPs Christian Doleschal, Markus Ferber, Monika Hohlmeier, Marlene Mortler, Angelika Niebler and Manfred Weber, the Free Voter MP Ulrike Müller and the AfD MPs Markus Buchheit, Sylvia Limmer and Bernhard voted Zimniok against it. SPD MP Ismail Ertug is not listed in the minutes. The SPD MP Maria Noichl and the Green MPs Malte Gallée, Henrike Hahn and Pierette Herzberger-Fofana voted for the ban. The EU Parliament finally voted 339 against 249 votes with 24 abstentions for the EU Commission's proposal to "achieve zero-emission mobility in road traffic by 2035".
