Munich (dpa / lby) - A twelve-year-old boy was seriously injured in an S-Bahn accident in Munich. On Wednesday afternoon, the child played with his mobile phone right on the edge of the platform in the Ostbahnhof and did not notice the incoming S-Bahn, as the federal police announced on Thursday.
The boy neither saw the train coming in nor did he hear the warning horn of the S-Bahn. The driver initiated an emergency stop, but the twelve-year-old got his leg between the train and the edge of the platform and was dragged along for several meters. Witnesses pulled him back onto the platform. He was taken to a children's hospital with a traumatic brain injury and broken bones.
