Bavaria: CSU General Huber likes to watch the top model show

Munich (dpa / lby) - The new CSU General Secretary Martin Huber has expressed himself as a fan of the controversial casting show "Germany's Next Top Model". "I find the program very funny in part," he told Munich's "Abendzeitung" (Saturday). "Lieselotte was of course an original, a true brand. She really impressed me with her wacky humor and her deep relaxation." The 66-year-old Lieselotte was the second oldest candidate in this year's season, which ended at the end of May. "That was already fresh."

Heidi Klum's ProSieben show is repeatedly criticized. Most recently, former candidates raised allegations of manipulation. ProSieben has announced legal action against it.

Huber had moved in as CSU general to succeed Stephan Mayer, who had previously resigned. Shortly thereafter, allegations of plagiarism against him became known. He then had his doctoral thesis reviewed by the Ludwig Maximilian University. A result is still pending, as Huber told the AZ. "I have written this work to the best of my knowledge and belief."
