Bavaria: Kayakers died in an accident in Upper Bavaria

Garmisch-Partenkirchen (dpa/lby) - A 43-year-old man died in a kayak trip in Upper Bavaria. The man from Erlangen was with a group of kayakers on the Loisach near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the police said on Tuesday. He is said to have swerved and capsized. He is said to have gotten caught in tree trunks that were below the water surface when freeing himself from the kayak. Rescue workers were only able to rescue the lifeless man on Monday after more than two hours due to the difficult access.
