Bavaria: Missing 82-year-old found dead in quarry lake

Ebermannstadt (dpa / lby) - An 82-year-old who has been missing for five days has been found dead in his car in a quarry pond in Upper Franconia. A police spokesman said on Sunday. The senior drove away from his home in Ebermannstadt (Forchheim district) with a car and trailer early Tuesday morning and has been missing ever since. It was only on Saturday that walkers discovered tire tracks near a quarry pond - about ten kilometers from where he lives. Water rescue divers found the vehicle in the lake and recovered the senior's lifeless body. There were no indications of external influences, the 82-year-old suffered from dementia, according to police statements.
