Approximately 10 lbs of explosives have disappeared in the Marine Corps foundation in Southern California, reports said Thursday.

"Out of respect for the investigative procedure, NCIS doesn't comment on or confirm particulars regarding ongoing investigations," Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) spokesman Jeff Houston told Fox News in an email early Friday.

The C-4 vanished during a very long training exercise fourteen days before and might have been stolen. A reward has been offered because of its safe yield, the San Diego station reported.

C-4 is a high-profile volatile and one-tenth of the sum stolen could blow off a vehicle, a former bomb tech advised KGTV.
