Extended lunch break : Heat: Union calls for "siesta" for construction workers

In view of the heat, the Bauen-Agrar-Umwelt industrial union (IG BAU) has called for more protection for workers on construction sites and brought an extended lunch break into play. "We should think about a much longer lunch break, in Spain this is called a siesta," said union executive Carsten Burckhardt on Thursday. Various models could be discussed, for example that canceled times would be made up on other days.
