As a singer, Lady Gaga has already received numerous Grammys and an Oscar. For some time, the 36-year-old has also been trying to be an actress. After "The House of Gucci" she will soon be seen in the new "Joker" sequel "Folie à Deux". She appears to be playing Harley Quinn in it.

Singer Lady Gaga stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the new 'Joker' sequel 'Folie à Deux'. Now a first picture has appeared showing the 36-year-old Grammy winner in her role. Director Todd Phillips posted the snapshot on Instagram. "Happy Valentine's Day," the filmmaker wrote.

You can see it: Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker and Lady Gaga, who stares at him with wide eyes – her hands on his face. The singer is reportedly playing Harley Quinn, who later became the Joker's girlfriend. In addition to Phoenix and Gaga, the cast includes Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener. The "Joker" sequel is scheduled to hit theaters in October 2024.

Phillips had already published a photo of leading actor Joaquin Phoenix in December. "Day one. Our boy," he explained. So it was clear: the shooting of the eagerly awaited sequel had begun.

Not much is known about the history of the sequel. According to media reports, "Joker: Folie à Deux" is to become a musical - and could play in the so-called Arkham Asylum, Gotham City's mental institution. That's where the main character Arthur Fleck ended up at the end of the first part. The movie "Joker" was a box office hit in 2019 and grossed over one billion US dollars worldwide. Phoenix won an Oscar for his portrayal of the DC villain.
