National soccer player Giulia Gwinn switched back to attacking mode shortly after returning home. "If you just missed the title, then you want to get it all the more next time," said the 23-year-old from FC Bayern Munich to the "Schwäbische Zeitung" (Friday). "We will develop new strength in the coming months. And then challenge the English again," added the midfielder. With the DFB selection, Gwinn lost the European Championship final against the hosts 1:2 after extra time.
All in all, Gwinn took away positive and special impressions from the continental tournament: "You feel a bit remotely controlled, as if someone had written a screenplay. Suddenly we are the main actors in a film that inspires people in Germany. To process that, it will take a few more days."
