Hesse: advantages for the police: bar owners have to pay money

Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - After repeatedly sending an employee of the Frankfurt city police money and benefits in kind, a bar owner from the Alt-Sachsenhausen entertainment district has to pay a fine of 3,000 euros. In return, the criminal proceedings against him were dropped by the Frankfurt district court on Tuesday. The crimes date back about seven years. The municipal employee, to whom other restaurateurs had also granted advantages, has since been sentenced to probation.

According to the court, the fact that the donations were only worth a few hundred euros was decisive for the termination of the proceedings. The host's private car was made available to the employee. In addition, he occasionally received money as well as food and drinks. Comparable proceedings against other innkeepers were also set against monetary conditions, the public prosecutor said.
