Hesse: an injured person in an apartment fire

Kassel (dpa/lhe) - One person was injured in an apartment fire in Kassel. As the fire brigade announced on Monday, the fire broke out early in the morning in an apartment on the first floor of a five-storey house. The entire building was heavily smoked. About 35 people were affected, four of them had to be rescued via a ladder from the fourth floor. The other residents were able to escape via the stairwell. The injured person was taken to the hospital. The damage caused is estimated at around 100,000 euros. Nothing was initially known about the cause of the fire.
