Bischofsheim (dpa/lhe) - A 23-year-old man was hit by an S-Bahn at Bischofsheim station (Groß-Gerau district) and seriously injured. On Sunday evening, the man walked about 150 meters from the train station on the tracks, the police said on Monday. The train driver gave a warning signal, but could no longer prevent a collision. The man was seriously injured and his life is not in danger.
According to the police, the man was drunk with an acquaintance. Why he ran onto the tracks and how high his alcohol level was initially remained unknown. Train traffic was completely blocked for around an hour and a half.
