Hesse: drunk cyclist arrested on the highway

Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - A cyclist was arrested on a motorway towards downtown Frankfurt. The man was traveling in the right lane of the federal highway 648 when there was heavy traffic, the officials said on Thursday. During a police patrol check early Thursday morning, the 29-year-old had an alcohol level of 1.61 per mille and he was unable to show any valid identification papers. When asked why he was cycling on the motorway, the man stated that he wanted to do sports. The police arrested him on suspicion of endangering road traffic and suspected of staying without a valid ID.
