Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - Ten music institutions and concert organizers from Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main area have launched a joint music festival. According to their own statement on Thursday, they want to use it every two years to underline the importance of Frankfurt as a music city. The focus of the first edition of the festival is the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Under the title "Mainly Mozart", 30 events are to be offered at various locations from April 21 to 30 next year.

Unusual concert formats are also planned - including a concert where the audience can sit in the middle of the orchestra, concerts in the city, an "opera to go" on a pleasure boat on the Main and a jazz concert based on the big ones composers.

The Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Frankfurt Museum Society, the University of Music and Performing Arts, the Frankfurt Radio Big Band, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Frankfurt Opera, the Bad Homburg Palace Concerts and the Wiesbaden Mozart Society are all taking part in the festival .
