Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - The Frankfurt police are continuing their increased operations in the Frankfurt train station district. Since mid-September 2022, the officers on site have been supported by the riot police - with success, the police headquarters said on Friday. By the end of December, 1,086 additional criminal charges had been filed, 622 of them for violations of the Narcotics Act. There were also 1,248 reports of administrative offenses. More than 210 grams of crack were seized.
217 people were provisionally arrested and 115 arrest warrants were executed. Two days after a stabbing with a life-threateningly injured person in front of a kiosk on December 31, the officials were able to arrest a fugitive suspect.
The police presence had increased significantly, especially in the afternoon, evening and night hours, the Bureau said. The officials would be used for targeted priority checks, foot patrols and as posts at neuralgic points, for example in the vicinity of drug help facilities.
