Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - Hessen's hotels, guesthouses and inns accommodated significantly more guests in September than in the same month a year earlier. Around 1.3 million guests and more than 3.0 million overnight stays were registered in the past month, as reported by the State Statistical Office in Wiesbaden on Monday, with reference to preliminary data. Compared to September 2021, the number of guests increased by 29 percent and the number of overnight stays by 23 percent. In autumn 2021 there were numerous restrictions due to the corona pandemic.
Compared to the pre-crisis level of September 2019, however, the accommodation establishments recorded around 14 percent fewer guests and almost 9 percent fewer overnight stays in September 2022.
