Kassel (dpa/lhe) - After a suspected cyber attack on the servers of the Kassel city cleaning department, the company network is still paralyzed. As a spokeswoman said on Friday, one hopes to at least be available again by email in the coming week. It is unclear when the disruption will be completely resolved and the city cleaners will be available online again. "We have therefore strengthened the telephone service and even activated our fax machines again," she said.
The city of Kassel reported on the attack on Thursday. Accordingly, unknown persons had succeeded in penetrating the company network, which had been secured several times. According to the city, the attack has no effect on regular waste disposal and street cleaning. However, bulky waste or electronic scrap can no longer be picked up at the houses because, among other things, the appointment database was destroyed.
