Hesse: State funding for community nurses continues

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - The Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs also wants to financially support the work of community nurses in the future. Social Affairs Minister Kai Klose (Greens) announced on Thursday in Wiesbaden that the "Community Sister 2.0" funding program, which has existed since 2018, will be continued. His house has developed a new funding guideline for the years 2023 to 2026, which will come into force on January 1st next year.

Community nurses should provide psychosocial support on site and thus help older people to live in their familiar surroundings for as long as possible. In many places, the helpers are an important support for senior citizens and close the gap between medical or nursing care and social support, explained Klose.
