Luton Incident: Man after throwing egg at Charles III. arrested

During a visit by King Charles III. A minor scandal broke out in the English town of Luton: while walking around, the monarch was thrown an egg by a young man. The suspect is then arrested. This is not the first attack on Queen Elizabeth II's son.

British police have arrested a 20-year-old man who stabbed King Charles III. should have thrown. Charles visited the city of Luton north of London on Tuesday to open a new Sikh temple there, among other things. While walking around, an egg was thrown at him, narrowly missing. The suspect was brought in for questioning, according to Bedfordshire County Police.

The king was then temporarily led away from the crowd by his bodyguards. After a short time, however, the monarch continued to shake hands elsewhere, the PA news agency reported.

The incident was not the first for the new king. Less than a month ago, Charles III. together with his wife Camilla, had eggs thrown at them during a visit to York in northern England. The eggs just missed the royal couple. "This country was built with the blood of slaves," cried a man who was arrested by police shortly afterwards and later released on bail.

Charles III, who will be crowned eight months after ascending the throne in May, is not as popular as his mother, who was downright adored by many Brits. After the death of Elizabeth II in September, his popularity ratings have increased, but his son Prince William and his wife Kate are more popular.
