Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The Bundesliga volleyball players at SSC Palmberg Schwerin will start preparing for the new season on August 8 with a skeleton team. "We assume that the players who are currently still in action in the Nations League will also be nominated for the World Cup in the Netherlands and Poland and will not be available to us for most of the preparation," said coach Felix Koslowski. From August 15th to 19th the team travels to the training camp in Zingst. The complete squad should only be complete shortly before the start of the season in October.
In the CEV Cup, the SSC will see Jelena Olujic again, who was part of the Schwerin champion team in 2017/18 and is now playing for the Serbian first-round opponent Zeleznicar Lajkovac. "I don't know much about the team yet, so I'm looking forward to the video material we'll get. Basically, in volleyball, Serbia is a country that always has very talented players," emphasized Koslowski.
The SSC has home rights first. The game should take place between December 13th and 15th. The second leg in Serbia is scheduled for December 20-22.
