Schwerin (dpa/mv) - At the 31st Filmkunstfest Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the prizes will be awarded on Saturday (5:30 p.m.). Since Tuesday, feature films, documentaries, children's films and short films have competed in four competitions for prizes totaling 48,000 euros. The main prize is the "Flying Ox" for the best feature film. The award is endowed with 10,000 euros. As every year, current productions from Germany, Austria and Switzerland were in the competitions.
A winner of the Filmkunstfest 2022 has already been determined. Actor Matthias Habich ("Klemperer", "Nowhere in Africa") receives the festival's honorary award, the "Golden Ox", from Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) for his life's work. The film art festival lasts until Sunday.
