Ferdinandshof (dpa/mv) - Ferdinandshof (Vorpommern-Greifswald district) will host the 31st state harvest festival on Sunday (10 a.m.). After the thanksgiving service in the Scharmützelkirche, there will be a big festival procession through the village and an all-day folk festival on the estate. The harvest crown made by the rural women from the Uecker-Randow region will be handed over to Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig in the afternoon.

The farmers in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have reason to celebrate given the above-average grain harvest this year. But the joy is clouded by inflation and galloping energy prices.
