Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: After a dog attack: investigations against holders

Rostock (dpa / mv) - After the police operation with a shot attack dog in Rostock, the officials are now investigating the 30-year-old owner of the animal. According to the previous investigations, there is a suspicion of negligent bodily harm, as a police spokeswoman said on Wednesday in Rostock. The aggressive dog of the Old English Bulldog breed attacked several people in the Lütten Klein district of Rostock on Sunday. The 46-year-old friend of the dog owner was critically injured and was taken to a clinic.

The incident happened on Sunday afternoon in an apartment building in the prefab district in the north-west of Rostock. The dog had only attacked the owner himself. Rescue workers were then called, but they also had to get to safety. The alarmed police found the dog just as it was standing over the seriously injured woman, it said. When the animal attacked the officers, it was killed with several shots.

The owner was slightly injured. It was said that he had to be questioned in more detail. There were no other animals or people in the home at the time.
