Eggesin (dpa / mv) - burglars stole around 2000 liters of diesel from a forwarding company in Western Pomerania in one fell swoop. As a police spokesman explained on Monday in Anklam, this time a transport company in Eggesin (West Pomerania-Greifswald) was affected. According to initial investigations, the perpetrators presumably entered the company premises at the weekend and tapped into the tanks of eight vehicles. It is still unclear how the perpetrators got rid of this large amount of fuel. An employee noticed the whole thing on Monday morning.
The property damage was estimated at around 4100 euros. Diesel cost around 2.15 euros per liter at gas stations in the region on Monday. Most recently, diesel thieves stole fuel in large quantities from vehicles near Malchin (Mecklenburg Lake District) and in Neubrandenburg at the beginning of September after the tank discount was abolished.
