Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: drug driver wants to depend on the police and gets stuck

Bad Sülze (dpa / mv) - With the lights off and risky driving maneuvers, a driver in the Bad Sülze region (West Pomerania-Rügen) gave himself a chase with the police. A larger police force was able to put the 47-year-old in a field after about 30 minutes on Sunday evening, as a police spokesman said on Monday. The man had ignored a police check in Redderstorf and fled. He lost control of the car in a curve near Rönkendorf, rolled straight ahead into a field and got stuck.

The 47-year-old from the region, who was probably under the influence of drugs, and his passenger are said to have refused to get out and locked the doors. The window on the passenger side was smashed. Both were handcuffed. According to initial investigations, the 47-year-old no longer had a driver's license. Drugs were also found in the car.

The driver is now being investigated for illegal car racing, endangering road traffic, possession of narcotics, driving without a license and resisting law enforcement officers. There was minor damage to his car.
