Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: More than 3000 Ukrainian students in MV

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - The number of Ukrainian refugee children in public schools in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has risen to over 3,000. This emerges from a message from the Ministry of Education in Schwerin on Tuesday. Of the 3,086 students from Ukraine who are currently registered, 2,527 initially required intensive German lessons - 82 percent. In the coming school year, the Ministry of Education in Schwerin expects more Ukrainian school children - the number could therefore rise to up to 5,000. The state hires additional teachers and supervisors for them.
