Kemnitz (dpa/mv) - A motorcyclist and his passenger were seriously injured in an accident near Kemnitz (West Pomerania-Greifswald) on Thursday. As a police spokesman said, a car had stopped on Landesstraße 262 because of oncoming traffic to turn left. The 61-year-old motorcyclist probably saw this too late and hit the vehicle from behind. The 61-year-old passenger was thrown over the car against a car parked in front of it.
Both motorcyclists were still responsive, it said. They were taken to a clinic in Greifswald by rescue helicopter. The 44-year-old driver of the rammed car was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The motorcycle was totaled. The road was closed for almost an hour. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
