Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: New provost Tobias Sarx introduced with a service

Stralsund (dpa / mv) - The new provost of the Stralsund provost in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District, Tobias Sarx, officially took up his post on Saturday with a service in the Marienkirche. The 47-year-old theologian had previously been introduced to his senior position by the bishop of the North Church in Mecklenburg and Pomerania, Tilman Jeremias, as the church announced on Saturday. The actual beginning of service of the former director of studies at the preacher and study seminar of the North Church in Ratzeburg was June 1st.

Sarx was elected last October by the church district synod to succeed Pröpstin Helga Ruch, who retired at the end of May. In the election, he narrowly defeated the pastor of the Züssow-Zarnekow-Ranzin parish, Ulf Harder. There are three provost seats in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District - in Stralsund, Pasewalk and Demmin.
