Thanks to a new regional sign, consumers should be able to recognize regional products more easily in the future, said the head of the State Chancellery, Patrick Dahlemann (SPD), on Thursday at the start of the sign. The label is intended to advertise the quality of products from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, but also to represent the state as a location for agriculture and the food industry.
The Komander family confectionery in Grammentin (Mecklenburg Lake District) was the first to receive the mark on Thursday.
The sign is in the form of a flag with the lettering "MV", the addition "Naturally from" and an element that is intended to represent the local landscape in a stylized way and is also part of the state logo. Manufacturers can now apply for it at Landesmarketing MV. The prerequisite is that the company is based in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. In addition, at least one value-added step must take place here. In addition, food regulations and certain rules for using the mark must be observed.
