Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Record year for Lotto MV: Highest stake since 1991

Rostock (dpa/mv) - Last year, Lotto Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's lotteries posted a record total of around 132 million euros. This is the highest stake since the founding of the Lotto and Toto management company in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania in 1991 and also surpasses the strong result from 2021 (127 million euros), as Lotto-Toto Mecklenburg-West Pomerania announced on Friday.

According to the information, in 2022 there were 27 game participants with major prizes of over 50,000 euros, including three million prizes. The largest prize of around 3.5 million euros in the "6aus49" lottery went to the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim at the beginning of July. Since 1991, the number of lottery millionaires in MV has now totaled 57. Last year, prizes totaling around 48 million euros were paid out in the north-east.

Lotto MV is a state government company and also bears responsibility for the common good, it said. A total of around 51 million euros were made available via Lotto Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in 2022. The management company Lotto und Toto paid around 23 million euros to the state in lottery taxes alone. A further 26 million euros went directly into the state budget as so-called special-purpose income.
