Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: truck collides with bridge near Crivitz: 220,000 euros damage

Crivitz (dpa/mv) - On the B321 near Crivitz there was a traffic accident on Friday afternoon with a large-scale operation by the police and fire brigade and damage to property amounting to 220,000 euros. A truck with a crane boom loaded with wood crashed into a bridge on district road 110 between Crivitz and Barnin, as the Rostock police headquarters announced late Friday evening. In the collision, the truck lost its load and the crane tore off. However, there was no significant damage to the bridge, so that it could be released again after a temporary full closure. The main road, on the other hand, was blocked on one side for a long time. Initial investigations into the cause of the accident revealed that the crane had not been retracted after loading work. The 60-year-old driver of the truck was not injured.
