Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: TV thieves caught red-handed

Plau/Stralsund (dpa/mv) - Two television thieves drove almost 100 kilometers from northern Western Pomerania to Plau (Ludwigslust-Parchim) at the weekend, but were caught red-handed there. As a police spokesman said on Monday, the men had stolen several flat-screen TVs from a hotel complex. The unusual activity of the burglars in the recently closed hotel not far from Plauer See was noticed by residents on Saturday and they alerted the police.

The police surprised the men who were carrying TV sets to their car and also had conspicuous burglary tools with them. Other devices were ready for transport. Parts of the TV systems from the hotel were already in her car. The loot was confiscated. The duo from the Vorpommern-Rügen district had to answer for a particularly serious case of theft. The hotel is said to have been surprisingly closed in the course of an insolvency, so that the complete inventory was still there.
