Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Unknown people set fire to vans in a hall

Bad Doberan (dpa/mv) - Burglars set a fire in a vehicle hall in Bad Doberan (Rostock district) and fled. As a police spokesman said on Tuesday, a van parked there caught fire during the night, damaging the roof of the hall. Local residents noticed the flames at night and sounded the alarm. The fire brigade prevented the entire hall from catching fire. Investigations revealed that the fence and the hall gate had been broken open beforehand. The 40-year-old owner stated that he had only parked the vehicle there the day before. The damage is estimated at several tens of thousands of euros, the fire is in the southwest of the city.
