Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: unvaccinated nurses: notifications in Saxony - nothing in MV yet

Schwerin (dpa/mv) - While more than 1,000 unvaccinated nurses have already received permission to continue their work in Saxony, no decisions have yet been made in the north-east, according to the Ministry of Health. A ministry spokesman said on Thursday at the request of the German Press Agency that the first notifications can be expected by the end of June or the beginning of July.

According to the latest surveys by the Schwerin Ministry of Health, almost 7,600 nurses and employees of service providers in facilities in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have not been vaccinated against the corona virus or have recovered from a corona infection.

The Saxon district of Mittelsachsen announced on Thursday that the health department had already confirmed in writing to 1,200 people affected that they could continue to work without restrictions. This was justified with the security of supply in the approximately 570 care facilities in the region. A total of around 3,200 employees were reported to the authority who were neither vaccinated nor recovered nor able to present a medical certificate.

According to the information, the district deviated from the nationwide procedure in the corona pandemic and refrained from hearing those affected and threatening fines and bans on entry. Rather, the nursing facilities were asked whether the security of supply would be endangered if the unvaccinated employees were banned from entering.

In MV, on the other hand, the authorities are in the middle of the planned administrative procedure. The health authorities have started sending out hearing letters to the unvaccinated employees, the ministry spokesman said. After completion of the hearing procedure, a decision will be issued by the health department. Those affected could object to this. A fine or an entry ban are possible. However, the authorities can also allow the continued employment of unvaccinated people if care cannot otherwise be guaranteed.
