Malchin (dpa/mv) - A wheelchair user was hit by a truck while crossing a street in Malchin (Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district) on Thursday and was fatally injured. The 85-year-old, who was traveling in an electric wheelchair, apparently overlooked the truck, police said. The man was initially seriously injured and flown to a hospital in Rostock in a rescue helicopter. The doctor later informed the police that the man had died. An expert from Dekra was also consulted to determine the cause of the accident.
