Kerpen (dpa / lnw) - Six people were injured in a head-on collision between two cars on a country road near Kerpen (Rhein-Erft district). The fire brigade freed two seriously injured occupants from one of the cars, the police said on Sunday. All those involved in the accident were taken to hospitals.

According to initial findings, the cars of a 21-year-old and a 24-year-old driver collided in a curve on Saturday evening. The 21-year-old's passengers were therefore a 17-year-old, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old. In the 24-year-old's car was a 21-year-old passenger. Both vehicles were destroyed in the accident. It was initially unclear how the collision happened.
