North Rhine-Westphalia: crane boom tilts to the side: roofer seriously injured

Recklinghausen (dpa / lnw) - When working on the roof of an apartment building in Recklinghausen, a worker was seriously injured on Thursday morning by a falling crane boom. The 36-year-old was initially trapped, but was able to free himself, the police said. The boom of the extendable construction crane suddenly tilted to the side. The worker was taken to the hospital. The Office for Occupational Safety and Health took over the further investigations. The "Bild" newspaper also reported.
