North Rhine-Westphalia: Fewer company bankruptcies in NRW

Neuss (dpa / lnw) - The risk of insolvency for companies in North Rhine-Westphalia has decreased noticeably in recent months. Overall, the credit agency Creditreform registered 50 insolvencies for every 10,000 companies in NRW in the first six months of this year, as the experts announced on Tuesday. The number of insolvencies was thus only slightly above the national average of 48 insolvencies per 10,000 companies.

The most populous federal state has thus improved significantly in the country comparison of the credit agency. Last year, NRW was one of the frontrunners with 62 insolvencies per 10,000 companies. Only Bremen and Berlin fared worse.

NRW now occupies a place in the midfield. Bavaria did best with 36 insolvencies per 10,000 companies, followed by Saxony (37), Thuringia 39 and Baden-Württemberg (43). NRW ranked 7th among the 16 federal states. Bremen and Berlin again performed worst with 77 and 79 insolvencies respectively.

The experts emphasized that the different insolvency rates in the federal states were not least influenced by the regional industry structures.
