Bochum (dpa / lnw) - VfL Bochum is threatened with the departure of sports director Sebastian Schindzielorz. The 43-year-old is said to have terminated his contract with the Bundesliga club, which is due to expire at the end of the year. This is reported by "Sport Bild". The club did not comment on this and stated that they would not comment on contract details. Schindzielorz is associated with VfL Wolfsburg, for which the ex-professional played ten of his 111 Bundesliga games. In 2009 he became champion with Wolfsburg. At the end of the year, Jörg Schmadtke will leave as sports director.
Most recently, VfL Bochum always said that the managing directors Ilja Kaenzig (finance) and Schindzielorz should be extended. The 43-year-old, who played for Bochum in his youth, took over from Christian Hochstätter at the beginning of 2018. Under Schindzielorz, the club managed to return to the Bundesliga, despite modest financial means, and lastly stayed up in the 13th table.
