North Rhine-Westphalia: Pedelec driver injured in collision with raccoon

Nieheim (dpa / lnw) - A pedelec rider collided with a raccoon in Nieheim in the Höxter district and fell. The animal suddenly appeared in front of the bike, the police said on Wednesday. The 46-year-old, who was wearing a helmet, suffered injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. After outpatient treatment, however, he was released. According to the police, the raccoon continued to walk after the accident on Tuesday.
