According to the information, the patrol car crew had previously become aware of a driver who was driving at excessive speed. When the officers asked the vehicle to stop, the 53-year-old fled. The man also disregarded red traffic lights on his frantic drive through the city at speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour. At an intersection, the man then reversed his vehicle, the patrol car dodged and crashed into the tree.

According to the police, the getaway car was discovered a little later with a warm engine in the owner's garage. According to the police report, the 53-year-old was under the influence of alcohol and was taken to the police station. The man's car and driver's license were seized.
